It's amazing to make the correlation between studying at school (ten thousand years ago) and studying within the workplace. At school, or college it's more a matter of absorbing the information - mechanically, purely for the purposes of passing exams. Yet now, as I have begun to take on various elements of study in the workplace it's wonderful how you can sit back and see where everything you are learning can, not only be applied, but also enhance your total work outlook.
In my younger adult days, all this study was purely for that holy grail - that bit of paper... but now, the bit of paper seems almost a poor second to all the wonderful skills we are picking up.
Mature age study... what a wonderful thing.
